Choi Sung-woo defeated Martin Horne 50-34 in the quarterfinals of the Ho Chi Minh 3 Cushion World Cup 2023 on Monday, putting him just one match away from the title.
The final will be against Bromdahl, who defeated Kim Jun-tae. Choi won his first career title at the 3-Cushion World Cup in Sharm el-Sheikh last December.
Choi led Martin Horne, who had come up with Yaspers. They took a 25-point lead into the break, dominated the first half and maintained a 10-point safety margin in the second half.
Choi extended the lead to 35-20 in the 15th over with four straight wickets.
Martin Horne, who hadn’t been hitting well, hit five straight in the 18th to pull within 36-29 after Choi had faltered.
However, Choi scored five points in the next three innings to break the 40-point barrier and maintain the 10-point lead.
Cho finished off a tough final stretch with five straight in the 24th inning.

Choi has fought Bromdahl relatively well in the past, defeating him 50-22 in 22 innings in the round of 32 at the Donghae World Championship last November.
The final between Choi and Bromdahl will take place at 9:30 on the 28th.
