The pact guarantees Longoria $4 million and comes with the chance to make an additional $1 million in bonuses, the Arizona Republic’s Nick Piecoro reports.
Longoria, 37, spent the past five seasons with the San Francisco Giants.
The three-time All-Star hit .244/.315/.451 with 14 home runs and 42 RBIs in 89 games and posted an .812 OPS against left-handed pitching. The three-time Gold Glover slotted into 68 games at third but posted a career-worst minus-4 in defensive runs saved.
D-Backs third basemen combined to hit .246/.319/.388 with 22 home runs and 102 RBIs in 2022, with Josh Rojas getting the majority of the reps at the hot corner.
Longoria is the latest addition by the D-Backs, who have also added Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Gabriel Moreno, Kyle Lewis, Miguel Castro, Scott McGough, and Diego Castillo this offseason.
