“My goal this year is to play a full season and win the World Series (WS) with Kim Ha-seong.”
San Diego (SD) third base coach Matt Williams (58), who previously coached the KIA Tigers in the KBO League, shared his current situation and wishes for this season.스포츠토토
On February 28 (Korean time), Coach Williams met with Star News at the San Diego spring camp in Peoria, Arizona, USA and said, “First of all, it’s really good because I’m not sick.”
After undergoing hip surgery in March of last year and leaving the coaching staff for a while, he joined the team in the middle of the season after successfully completing surgery and rehabilitation. Unlike the uncomfortable gait at this time last year, Coach Williams led the camp training of the players by walking around the field with light steps.
Regarding the goal for the season, coach Williams said, “Over the past few years, the San Diego club has strengthened its power by recruiting many of the league’s best players, including Ha-seong Kim (28).” It’s time to win for the fans.”
Coach Williams predicted Ha-sung Kim’s rebound in an interview with Star News before the season last year, and this became a reality. Kim Ha-seong played 150 games last season, recording a batting average of 0.235, 11 homers and 59 RBIs. He also recorded an OPS of 0.708, a combination of on-base percentage and slugging percentage, and showed adaptation to the major leagues.
Coach Williams said, “Kim Ha-seong has become a key player in the team who does not have to worry about hitting as well as solid defense,” and hoped, “I hope to win the World Series with Kim Ha-seong.”
