kt new foreigner filmed 149 km, “I need to improve the changing ball” self-reflection

kt Wiz’s new foreign pitcher, Bo Schulser, conducted the second live pitching of the spring camp.

On the 19th (Korean time), 안전놀이터 Schulser started his second live pitching at the spring camp in progress at Tucson Kino Sports Complex in Arizona, USA. Shulser threw 30 pitches against catchers Kim Jun-tae and Kang Hyun-woo.

On this day, the highest speed of the fastball was 149 km. In addition to 12 fastballs, Schulser threw 6 cutters, 7 curveballs, and 5 changeups, checking several pitches.

After pitching, Schulser said through the club, “I felt better than the first pitching. It’s unfortunate, but I’ll try to get better.”

He then promised, “I am preparing well for the opening, such as restraint and physical condition. I can see that the breaking ball needs further improvement. I will show a good figure.”

Schulser signed a contract for $740,000 this year and wore the kt uniform. After joining the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2017, he made his major league debut last year and recorded an ERA of 3.63 with 19 strikeouts in 22⅓ innings in 10 games. His career minor league performance was 25 wins, 28 losses, 4 holds and 11 saves in 5 seasons, 133 games, 373⅓ innings, and an earned run average of 4.12.

At the time of recruitment, kt said, “A right-handed pitcher who stably uses various pitches such as sliders and cutters with a fast fastball with a maximum velocity of 152 km and a changeup as his main weapon. If he shows himself well and adapts well to the domestic league, he is expected to play a part in the starting lineup for the team.”

Schulser is adapting to the new team by going with Wes Benjamin, who experienced the KBO league stage a year earlier last year at spring camp. It is known that the two players became close quickly because they met in the minor leagues.
