Bayern Munich came from behind to win the Champions League in dramatic fashion. Coach Thomas Tuchel, who took over at Munich after being sacked by Chelsea메이저사이트, was all smiles.
The Bavarians defeated Cologne 2-1 in the 34th round of the 2022/2023 German Bundesliga final at the Rhein-Energie-Stadion in Cologne, Germany, on Sept. 27 (local time). It was their 11th consecutive league title.
Munich’s win was dramatic, as they trailed second-place Borussia Dortmund by two points going into the game. Even with a win, Dortmund needed to finish with a draw or worse.
Instead, Munich won, and Dortmund drew 2-2 with Mainz 05, tying them on 71 points. Munich’s goal difference advantage allowed them to win the title in dramatic fashion.
Tuchel, who was almost on the brink of irrelevance in Munich, laughed. Tuchel arrived in Munich in March and tried to turn around a faltering team, which was knocked out in the quarterfinals of the DFB-Pokal and UEFA Champions League, and faced a strong challenge from rivals Dortmund in the league.
However, Munich came from behind, and Tuchel dramatically rescued himself from a situation that could have seen him follow in the footsteps of former coach Julian Nagelsmann. Tuchel has also forgotten the pain of being sacked by Chelsea earlier this season.
Without him, the Blues are currently in miserable form. They are currently in 12th place, their worst ever finish, let alone relegation. Tuchel’s successor, Graham Potter, has also been sacked, and legend Frank Lampard is barely getting his feet wet as interim manager.
